The Government of India has launched the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) to boost job creation, encourage first-time employment, and support employers in expanding their workforce. The scheme, which came into effect on August 1, 2025, will run till July 31, 2027 and aims to generate 3.5 crore jobs across the country. Objectives of PM-VBRY

Scheme Components
PM-VBRY has two key components that cover both employees and employers:
1. For First-Time Employees

Must be registered with EPFO for the first time after August 1, 2025.

Monthly wage should not exceed ₹1 lakh.

Incentive:

Equivalent to one month’s EPF wage (maximum ₹15,000).

Paid in two installments:

First after 6 months of continuous service.

Second after 12 months plus successful completion of a financial literacy course.

Disbursement: Money is transferred directly to the employee’s Aadhaar-linked bank account through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
2. For Employers

Eligibility:

Must be registered with EPFO.

Required to hire at least 2 new employees (if establishment size is under 50 workers) or 5 new employees (if above 50).

Incentive Slabs:

For employees earning up to ₹10,000/month → ₹1,000 per month incentive.

For ₹10,001 – ₹20,000/month → ₹2,000 per month incentive.

For ₹20,001 – ₹1,00,000/month → ₹3,000 per month incentive.

Duration: Benefits available for 2 years in most sectors and up to 4 years in manufacturing.

Payment Mode: Incentive amount is credited directly to the employer’s PAN-linked bank account.
The application process differs for employees and employers.
A. For First-Time Employees
No separate application is required. The system automatically tracks eligibility through EPFO payroll records. Employees just need to:

Ensure their UAN is activated and linked with Aadhaar.

Stay continuously employed for at least 6–12 months.

Complete the financial literacy course to claim the second installment.
B. For Employers
Employers need to register online with EPFO to avail incentives. Steps are:

Visit the EPFO Employer Portal and log in.

Register your establishment with PAN, GSTIN, TAN, and bank account details.

Submit the employee details of new hires from August 1, 2025 onwards.

File ECR (Electronic Challan-cum-Return) every month to confirm contributions.

The verified incentive amount will be credited directly to your bank account.
