Indian citizen enrolled in Class 9 or 11 Belong to OBC, EBC, or DNT/SNT categories Family income ≤ ₹2.5 lakh/year Minimum 60% marks in previous class Studying in a recognized institution with valid UDISE/AISHE code

 Application Timeline (2025–26)

Start Date: June 2, 2025 Deadline: August 31, 2025 Institute Verification: By September 15 Final Verification: By September 30 Note: Selection is now merit-based (YET exam discontinued).

The Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) is a token of national gratitude toward wards and widows of ex-servicemen, coast guard personnel, and police martyrs. Managed by respective welfare boards (e.g., KSB), it supports children pursuing professional or technical degree programs.

Eligibility

  • Must be the ward or widow of personnel from:

    • Army, Navy, Air Force, CAPF, Coast Guard, or police forces

    • Killed in action or disabled during service

  • Must be enrolled in regular professional degree courses (no distance learning)

  • Minimum 60% marks in qualifying exams (10+2/Graduation)

 Eligible Courses

  • BE, BTech, BDS, MBBS, BSc Nursing

  • BBA, BCA, BPharma, BEd, MBA, MCA, etc.

  • Recognized by AICTE/UGC

 Scholarship Amount

  • Girls: ₹3,000/month

  • Boys: ₹2,500/month

  • Paid annually via PFMS

  • Renewable yearly based on academic performance

 Application Process

  • Apply online via National Scholarship Portal (NSP) or KSB official portal

  • Upload required documents:

    • Mark sheet, admission proof, Aadhaar-linked bank details

    • Service/disability/death certificate of parent

 Preference Order

  1. Wards/widows of personnel killed in action
